I've taken up acrylic painting lately. It's ... well, it's not disastrous. I just can't express myself in something that's not abstract, though. It has to express something to me.
Let's see. I've also started a new sci-fi novel. It's called Blast Cascade and it's proving to be kind of fun. It's an idea I've been toying with for a while.
I also just finished with the current last Harry Potter book (HBP), and I'll be the first to say I underestimated the pure magic of the series. I'm really intrigued by Rowling's characterization.
Speaking of JK, it's kind of funny. She's the first person in history to become a millionaire solely by selling books, and yet she's still much more than humble. Unlike Anne Rice, who said (and I quote) "her work has evolved beyond having an editor." Sure, Anne. You keep telling yourself that as you write your work about the magic of Jesus. Yeech. I can't even imagine that. Anne Rice write a book about Jesus?
Anyway, enough about her. Just so I can finally say that I "get" what Beth meant by that picture of the mailbox with "Black" on it.

Before you criticise someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticise them, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes.
